Almost 7 years after the death of Troy Ave’s bodyguard Ronald "Banga" McPhatter at Irving Plaza the verdict is in. On March 23, 2023 a jury convicted Taxstone of first -degree manslaughter, two counts of assault in the first-degree, one count of assault in the second-degree and two counts of criminal possession of a weapon in the second-degree. This sparked a lot of discussion on social media about Troy Ave’s participation on cooperating with the District of Manhattan back in 2017. Troy Ave had taken a plea deal that exempted him of a 15 year sentence that was reduced down to one year. As the trial commenced the debate of “Street Code” resurfaced on social media platforms thanks to both Troy Ave and Taxstone exchange of indirect tweets to one another. Check what the "I didn’t want to do this” Talk Show had to say about it.
Troy Ave rode the momentum of the debate on social platform and proceeded to release Dear Hater, I Won music video on YouTube. The video implements that Taxstone had paperwork that was also presented to the judge assigned to the trial. Let me know what you think, full video below.
